15 Ways to Predict Divorce

How long will your marriage last?

Recently came across an article written by Anneli Rufus with some pretty interesting statistics about how your lifestyle can affect your rate of divorce. Some of the things on this list seem a bit absurd to me...but hey, it must have happened to a few people to become a statistic...hmmm

Depends on if you smoke, which church you go to, and which state you live in. Anneli Rufus on the shocking statistics.

Love or Lust?

Lisa from Real Housewives of Atlanta and her hubby Ed were spotted at the beach working out together. Is this love or lust?

I think this couple is founded on love. We know about her former "Sweat"-y past...hmmm

By the way have you all seen Nene? How do you all feel about her nose job? I think she looks like she can't breathe. NeNe, girl you looked better before. Her personality still rocks though.

Throwback Thursday

Do I love you?
Do I lust for you?
Am I a sinner cuz I do the two?
Could you let me know
Right now, please

Suede in the City

I think these are a great luxury buy. Even though they are suede it can be worn in the summer as a pops of color. Kathryn Amberleigh-Open Vamp Suede Booties are a winner in my book. They currently are on sale for 50% off thanks to Shopbop.

Black and Gold

Isn't ironic that the title of my favorite song is coincidentally the same as my favorite colors (and purple of course). I love this song because not only is his voice amazing but the lyrics are deep. You ever missed someone to the point where nothing else mattered? All you could think about was you and that special someone?

How about after a break up? As much as you might want to front, you feel just like Sam does in this song after a break up, don't ya?

I wouldn't know, never been in love... I have only been in lust and lured...

Tell me baby...

Why don't you love me?
Tell me baby,
Why don't you love
When I make me so damn easy to love?

This video is the sugar honey ice tea. It's got soul and the lyrics speak. I needed this song about two weeks ago when my heart was set on this particular person that I have now realized had no business even trying to love me. He couldn't handle me. Could not live up to my lifestyle, which is one of success. Not knocking; just saying. It might take a while to get over a person but, once you do, life feels so much easier. Beyonce did it up in this video...Don't you see Bettie Page in this?

No Love Doctor

It was a busy Saturday afternoon at work. I was approached by a young looking woman for some styling ideas. She said it was necessary that she update her wardrobe and was ready to drop dimes on a new closet of shoes. I questioned her asking if it was for work, casual wear, or nightlife. She exclaimed all three. I asked her what kind of work she does. She was a medical doctor.

We are going to call her Dr. Heels.

Dr. Heels recently opened her own medical clinic and had a lot of good things going for her on the job. I could tell she had a strong bond with her mother. Her mother was present along with her son. After picking out some shoes for Dr. Heels, bright colors for the Spring of course, I escorted her to a seat to try them on and “rip the runway”. I make all my customers strut in their shoes so that one, they are comfortable walking in them and two, so that they feel confident walking in them.

So while going through the heels we picked out Dr. Heels started telling me about her love life. Dr. Heels had been married for 10 years. Surprised, I was because she looked no older than 25, but I think Indian women have great skin and lovely features which helps.

Within Dr. Heels ten year marriage she had been cheated on 4 times by her husband. I repeat FOUR TIMES! She was in an arranged marriage and had a son. That particular Saturday was the fifth time her husband cheated on her. After three days of working in the hospital setting she went home to enjoy her weekend off and found her husband and his mistress getting ready to get busy on the couch; SHE BOUGHT!

Dr. Heels even had a picture in her blackberry and showed me the hillbilly looking female that her husband was cheating with. She shared that she took the picture, dressed her son, and left him in the home with no time for reoccurring explanations.

I was shocked with her story. She looked as though she wanted to cry but was so hurt that she could not shed a tear. She also shared that her husband did not work.

I could not imagine how a man that had a hardworking woman, making good money, and highly educated would want to cheat on their wife. She explained that the first time he cheated she moved up north but eventually came back for the sake of their young son.

My advice to her was, "Honey, You’re a doctor, people look up to you, people stress you out daily with their health problems or psychological problems. You do not need stress in the home. Leave that leach, because all he is doing literally is feeding off of your goods."

She shed a few tears after my advice and told me I have a great personality and will make it far in life.

We ended the conversation by the register. I rang Dr. Heels up and she handed me her business card.

My question to you: What do you think about this situation? Do you think what I told her was valuable? What’s your view on arranged marriages? Do you think Dr. Heel will get a divorce or once again try to heal a broken wound? Let’s chat!

Retrospective

This song sums up the ultimate basis of this blogs content. My name is Kristen Johnson; owner of www.krissyjohnson.com. Here you will be meeting my alter ego; "the inner Diva." Love Lust Lure...three words that can cover a broad span of topics in both fashion and relationships. I plan on doing journal entries based on my relationship tangents, good and bad, as well as those from others (I will change names for confidentiality purposes).

For years people have confined in me telling me about their relationships. I used to run home after school telling my Mom about the drama my teachers told me about going on in there home. I'm talking elementary school young.

I work in retail and I meet all types of people on the daily. Randomly, both men and women after helping them find products they need, or along the process of doing so, tell me about their love life.

I'm not going to lie, I always wonder why people decide to tell me their stories. What makes them trust me knowing "they don't know me from Adam;" meaning they don't know me at all? Or if they do know me, I wonder why they tell me their relationship problems knowing all I do is listen.

I have realized, more than ever, both men and women cheat, both men and women lie, and both men and women no matter how egotistical; just want to be loved. Love, lust, lure is here to share those stories. Everyday situations, from everyday people, seeking ordinary advice.
